    Know the Water.

Explore the White River and waterways throughout Central Indiana. Find documented public access, research low-head dams, and check the resources that matter before heading out.

From Anderson to Indianapolis, the White River offers a different view of the communities and landscapes around us. Beyond the river, Central Indiana is home to countless places worth exploring by canoe and kayak.

This developing atlas brings together Indiana DNR's mapped access sites and low-head dam inventory. Start with the White River or expand the map to explore the surrounding region.

    Important: Not a Navigation Map

Government map coordinates are approximate. Public access listings do not guarantee that a site is currently open, suitable for launching, or legally accessible. Dam inventories can be incomplete or outdated. Other hazards, including strainers, debris, and changing currents, may not be mapped. Never approach or cross a low-head dam. Verify your entire route independently.
